These steaks are the "filet mignon" of smoked hams... the prime portion that delivers the pure, remarkable flavor of Nueske's ham (with a minimum amount of time and effort on your part).
We start with lean, boneless ham... slowly cook and smoke it over glowing embers of sweet Applewood... slice into neat, even slices... then vacuum pack for your storage convenience.
Fully cooked, ready to serve at room temperature or gently warm in oven, skillet or microwave. Low in salt... no water added. Regular selection includes two steaks (1 lb. avg. each), serves 5-7 guests: Family includes four steaks, serves 10-14.
To Store: Refrigerate immediately. If you plan to serve at a later date place in freezer upon receipt.
To Serve: Smoked ham steaks are fully cooked ready serve hot or cold.
Grill or Broil: Place on grill or broiler rack 5-7 inches from heat source.
Heat 3 minutes, depending on thickness. Turn once and heat another 3 minutes.
Skillet: Melt 1 Tbsp. butter or oil in skillet. Warm over MEDIUM heat for approximately 4-5 minutes per side. Do not overheat.
