Description

Want to slice your own bacon extra-thick, extra-thin or in-between? With Nueske's Slab Bacon, you can slice your bacon to meet your (and your family's) exact preference.

This is the same premium-quality bacon as our popular sliced varieties... made from the leanest pork available, and slowly smoked over Wisconsin Applewood embers for a full 24 hours. Another sign of superior quality: It shrinks a fraction as much as typical supermarket bacon. Conveniently portioned in two or four 1 1/2 lb. slabs.

Store & Prepare

To Store: Refrigerate immediately. Vacuum-packaged bacon will keep for 12 weeks in refrigerator, or up to 1 year in freezer. Once opened, use within 1 week.

To Fry: For best results, place bacon in unheated skillet. Cook over MEDIUM LOW heat. Turn frequently until desired crispness is attained. (You'll notice less shrinkage than with other brands.)

Microwave: On microwave-safe plate, place bacon slices side by side between layers of paper toweling. Cook on HIGH for the following approximate times:
2 slices - 2 minute
4 slices - 4 minutes
6 slices - 6 minutes

Thin bacon slices require slightly less time.

Oven-Baked: Preheat oven to 350°F.  Place slices close together on rimmed baking sheet (rim prevents grease from dripping on oven's heating elements).  For easiest cleanup, place parchment paper on sheet prior to placing bacon (make sure paper doesn't hang over edges of baking sheet).  Bake 20 minutes or until desired doneness; no need to turn bacon during cooking.  Place bacon on paper toweling to drain.

Not as pictured, mostly fat not a lot of meat

I had this bacon out in Scottsdale AZ where they slow roasted and maple glazed the bacon, fantastic! Meaty, tender, flavorful. We asked the waiter what bacon was this and he said Nueskes. Well a bunch of us wound up ordering. While the bacon is tasty, the meat to fat ratio is awful. All my pieces were more than 50% fat, awful. I cooked it up for 2 parties I had and people were cutting and leaving the fat. I spoke to a few people and while the taste was good, the fat was overwhelming. For what I'm paying, I could just as easily go to my local butcher and get their bacon which I can see before I buy and I know is high quality. I have pictures that I would be happy to send. Probably will not buy the bacon again, perhaps some other product. Too bad, very sad waste of money..
