First, these braised pork shanks were tender and full of flavor. I boiled in the bag as recommended, which was OK, but next time I'll finish in the oven. Second, the sauce was fatty and salty, so I made a quick brown sauce using a small amount of the sauce from the bag. Because these are large portions, we had left overs. I took the remaining sauce and placed in the refrigerator, then removed the congealed fat before concocting another sauce to serve with leftovers. These really are great with homemade mashed potatoes.
