Ingredients
- Plain Cake or Yeast Donut
- 12 oz Nueske's Applewood Smoked Triple-Thick Bacon, cooked
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 4 Cups Powdered Sugar, sifted
- 1/4 Cup Whole Milk
- 3 Tbsp Light Corn Syrup
- 2 Unsalted Butter Sticks
- 1 Pinch Salt
- 2 Drops Blue Food Coloring
- For Salted Bacon Caramel:
- 1/2 Cup Heavy Cream
- 3 Tbsp Butter
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/4 Cup Nueske's Rendered Bacon Fat
- 1 Cup Sugar
Method
- Combine milk, butter, and corn syrup in pan and bring to a boil.
- Incorporate powdered sugar, vanilla, and blue food coloring (balances the yellow from the butter to provide a vibrant white) until sugar has dissolved.
- Cook bacon in oven at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes until reaching desired flexibility of bacon. Then dice and add on top.
- For Salted Bacon Caramel: Combine bacon fat, butter, and heavy cream to a boil.
- Add sugar and salt into liquid and dissolve.
- Boil 5 minutes and reduce to desired thickness.
