Cook manicotti shells until barely tender. Drain and cool. Mix together the mettwurst, egg, ricotta cheese,1 c. of the mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese and basil. Stuff the shells with this mixture and place in 8 x 10 baking pan. Pour sauce evenly over the shells. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese. Bake for 35 minutes at 350°.
Note: This can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator or frozen. If refrigerated, bake for 1 hour. If taken from the freezer, bake for 2 hours.
