Very similar to one of my recipes I've been doing for over 40 years. I use B&M beans, however. The Nueske's bacon makes it even better! If you use B&M beans, you can omit the brown sugar and molasses... B&M beans may not be available in large cans? Four or five regular cans works.
I make mine in a roaster pan. A bean pot, if you can find one, would work even better!
I like my beans with a warm, crusty French bread, sliced about 3/4". Or fresh warm biscuits?
I like to open the bacon pack, and slice it into 1/2" slices, as a slab. As it fries, the slices will fall apart. Stir to break them up.
