Mom's Chopped Salad with Bacon

Ingredients

10 slices Nueske's Bacon, diced 1/2 inch
8-10 leaves Romaine lettuce, chopped
2 Tbsp onion, finely diced
1 C tomato, chopped
3/4 C celery, chopped
3 Tbsp dried craisins
1/2 C Asian or Bosc pear, diced
1 avocado, diced
3 Tbsp blue cheese, crumbled
1/2 C French fried onions (dried) optional for garnish
Dressing:
1/2 C oil
4 Tbsp red wine vinegar
2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
6 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Directions

Fry bacon in skillet until medium crisp. Remove and cool slightly. Mix remaining ingredients together except the French fried onions which should be placed on top of the salad just before serving, if desired.

Mom's Scrumptious Chopped Salad with Bacon

Everyone who tastes this wants the recipe. It's fabulous. I used an especially creamy blue cheese from Nala's Fromagerie and of course a good balsamic vinegar. This salad is heavenly...and so easy!
