We consider ourselves picky bacon conisseurs. Most restaurants serve flimsy tasteless bacon that disappoints. I always purchase higher quality, farm to fork or zero nitrates added bacon. We are not brand loyal. After purchasing years of center cuts, upgrading to nitrate frees and trying various bacons with different flavored smokes, Wild Cherrywood was the next taste adventure for us.
We bake bacon. My kitchen smelled like both a cozy campfire and delicious bacon. Very aromatic as it baked. The final product was incredibly tasty - enough smoke flavoring to prove the claims “smoked bacon” (most say it but never deliver). The pieces remained generous in shape and we all commented throughout breakfast how pleasantly surprised we were. Awesome bacon. We had leftovers set aside for a BLT but they never made it.
Another bonus to enjoying it was that we didn’t have to avoid eating parts of pieces due to high amounts of just pure fat - like with some thick bacons. BRAVO!
